Lauren Kentish, Occupational Therapist

Lauren Kentish

Occupational Therapist

Lauren is a highly specialist paediatric OT, specialising in Autism. She has a passion for working with children and in particular those with ASD/sensory processing difficulties.

Since qualifying in 2007 at Southampton University, Lauren has managed/led the OT provision in a specialist school for students who are diagnosed as being on the autistic spectrum with associated learning difficulties, ranging from 5-19 years old. Many of the children also have challenging behaviour as a result of their communication difficulties and lack of social understanding.

Lauren has an in-depth knowledge of Autism and uses a very functional approach to her assessment and treatment, working closely with other members of the Multi Disciplinary Therapy Team at the school (including speech therapists, psychologists and school staff) and families.

Post graduate training includes Sensory Integration Module 1; Foundations and Neuroscience, Handwriting Without Tears, How Does Your Engine Run: The Alert Programme for Self Regulation, Intensive Interaction and TEACCH.
