Speech and Language Therapist

I have experience diagnosing and treating clients with range of communication and swallowing impairments (dysphagia) within busy acute hospitals, clinics and the community. I currently work for the NHS as a Highly Specialist SLT within Older Adults Mental Health. However, I have diverse experience treating adults with a range of conditions including Stroke and Progressive Neurological Conditions e.g. Parkinson's disease, Multiple Sclerosis, Motor Neuron Disease and Dementia.

I regularly provide Clinical Supervision to student SLT's as well as communication and dysphagia training to clients, carer's, Nursing Home staff and other professionals. I have experience working with a range of professionals such as Dietitian's, Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists, Specialist Nurses and Consultants as well as voluntary organisations including the MNDA and the Alzheimer's Society.

I adopt a client centred approach to therapy, focusing on impairment based and functional goals depending upon the client's needs.
